UV ink can be classified in various ways, with several common categories as follows:
1.By performance positioning (hard):
- Hard Uv ink: Strong adhesion, weak stretching and bending performance, material distortion can easily cause pattern cracking, suitable for high-hardness materials such as tiles,, wooden boards, hard plastics, glass, etc.
- Soft Uv ink: Can be printed on soft materials, material distortion is not prone to delamination, the ink is soft, and it is prone to leave abrasion marks on hard materials, suitable for soft materials such as fabric for lamps, soft film, wall fabric, car decal, etc.
- Neutral Uv ink: Slightly lacking in hardness, not suitable for materials with high hardness requirements such as glass, but with good adhesion on plates and materials, and certain abrasion resistance, suitable for acrylic, PS boards, PVC foam boards, etc.
- Coating-free ink: Adds coating raw materials save the step of wiping the coating, which can improve adhesion and printing effect, but increases the risk of clogging the nozzle and reduces the quality of the color, for glass, acrylic and other smooth surfaces that need to wipe the coating.
2.By the type of printer head:
There are uv inks for Ricoh, Seiko,Epson, Toshiba, Kyocera, etc., and specific heads require corresponding inks to affect nozzle life and printing effect.
So customers must choose the right UV ink according to the specific brand of the printing head and the material used to prevent damage to the head and the printing effect.
